Building upon my last album "Social Musings by Austin," "Soundtrack for Aruba" features the following tracks:
"Aruba - C'mon Baby Let's Go"
Aruba really doesn't have a theme song, except for The Beach Boys' "Kokomo" with its beginning of "Aruba, Jamaica, Oooh I wanna take ya." Therefore, I wanted to give Aruba a proper anthem.
In the verse of the song, I list my favorite beaches on the island and talk about all of the visitors from Holland, Brazil and America.
The music is upbeat, matching the vibes of the beach on a typical sunny day in Aruba.
"Not Gonna Bring Me Down"
I am incredibly excited about this collaboration between me and aspiring songwriters Samantha Jane Sweitzer and Max Schuette.
This inspirational country ditty came together over one weekend and features all three of us on the vocals.
Led by a riff to which you can't help but tap your feet, the lyrics talk about the hangman jury of judgment that exists both externally in the world and internally in your own mind.
The song ends with a jubilant refrain that none of this judgment will impede the pursuit of your dreams.
I'm Lost
Inspired by my true Aruba story of rafts that floated out to sea for 24 hours, "I'm Lost" is a ballad about what it must have felt like to be adrift in the open ocean unaware if you will be rescued or not.
Dealing with issues of life and death, this powerful track is the perfect finale to the album.
I hope you enjoy my new music, and please comment below!
