I just returned home to Austin, Texas from my annual month-long vacation in Aruba, and I am immensely impressed with the progression of Aruban gastronomy.
After eating my way around the One Happy Island for the past two fortnights, I produced this list of the best restaurants in Aruba.
Enjoy!
Here are my 2024 award-winners:
Best Fine Dining: Wilhemina
As I discussed in my formal restaurant review on this website, Wilhemina’s culinary elegance will BLOW YOU AWAY. From its exquisite outdoor courtyard to its extensive menu of Old World European classics expertly paired with zesty Caribbean flavors, everyone in your party will be begging for more.
Runner-up: Azar
Best Tourist Dining: Gianni’s
Gianni’s location, ambience and Spaghetti al Formaggio Parmigiana make it a must-visit when staying in the high-rise hotels on Palm Beach. Perfect for couples, birthdays and large groups, Gianni's delivers an upscale Little Italy experience. If you want a sneak preview of the breathtaking and fiery table presentation of their pasta special, check out my official review of Gianni's here.
Runner-up: L'Avenue
Best Romantic Dining: Papiamento
Papiamento’s historic buildings, pool and garden make this a couple’s dream. Request a table for two alongside the beautifully lit pool, and the memories of your evening will last a lifetime.
Runner-up: Flying Fishbone
Best Fish by the Ocean: Zeerovers
By far the most memorable meal you will have on the island, Zeerovers is the ULTIMATE Aruba experience. First order your freshly-caught shrimp and red snapper at the roadside window, then walk out back to the waterfront seating area. Minutes later, your food arrives fried to perfection. Try to get one of the three tables out on the pier for the best oceanfront dining.
Runner-up: Pelican Pier
Best Locals Joint (and Best Value): Pika’s Corner
The best value on the island, locals and tourists alike flock to Pika’s Corner near Palm Beach for its fresh fish specials and dazzling shrimp and meat skewers. Don't miss Pika's bountiful funchi, a local fried cornmeal delicacy, as an appetizer.
Runner-up: La Granja

In case you missed it, I recorded a music video on a boat at Arashi Beach while I was in Aruba.
